Can I back up Microsoft Teams?
Storcom Cloud Backup for M365 enables you to back up and recover Microsoft Teams data. As data is communicated and shared within Microsoft Teams, it is logged into Exchange Online and SharePoint Online. Utilizing Veeam Explorers™ allows you to locate and restore Teams data, encompassing chats, documents, and sites. Additionally, you can restore data associated with Teams tabs and channels and subsequently reattach it manually to the corresponding Teams location.
What counts as a user?
To determine the required number of licenses, tally the count of Microsoft 365 end-user mailboxes and resource mailboxes within each of your Microsoft 365 organizations that you intend to have processed by Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365. A user mailbox, which includes personal mailboxes, Online Archive mailboxes, conference room mailboxes, etc., necessitates one license file for archiving the mailbox data. It’s important to note that shared mailboxes do not require licenses and can be backed up at no cost.
Is it feasible to transfer existing backups from another vendor to Storcom Cloud Backup for Microsoft 365?
No, Microsoft 365 backups operate differently than workload backups, and each vendor uses a proprietary format for storing backups. Our recommendation is to collaborate with your current vendor to export the backups to a PST file, which can then be stored locally.
Can I have a different retention policy for a subset of users or Microsoft 365 services?
No. You can choose to have a different retention policy than the default (unlimited) but that retention policy will be applied to all users and all Microsoft 365 services.
